Measurement - Giant style

In V3 we have been learning about measurement. Yesterday we talked about standard and non-standard units. We were given the outline of a giants hand and had to work out his body proportions using what we worked out from our own hand spans and body lengths. Tricky! Check us out using twister and fly swats to race each other in our basic facts! 

Here are some more pics from the Amazing Race! The children were brilliant on the day - excitable, encouraging and road safe! They supported their team members all the way to the finish line and had a great time along the way. Teams were made up of one child from each of the six Victory Park classes. They were set off at different times and given clues that led them to challenges and eventually Shoreland Park for a well-deserved picnic and play.

We had an AMAZING time at the AMAZING Race. A big thank you to all parents who helped out on the day. Children loved getting their costumes ready with their team mates and racing around Island Bay. Everyone arrived safely with their teammates ready for a picnic at Shoreland Park. In fact there was only one injury....
